Raffaella Leproni, PhD, Researcher and Adjunct Professor at Roma Tre University, Department of Education. Her didactic activity, held in different curricular and postgraduate courses, develops around authentic materials in socio-pedagogic and educational areas dealt with in CLIL perspective. Her research activity focuses on English for Specific Purposes in HR and Social Sciences, as well as on the analysis of the role of language in the participated construction of social identity as focal point of an intercultural perspective.

She is a Department Referee for the Board of the Roma Tre University Language Center (Giunta del Centro Linguistico di Ateneo – CLA), a Referee for eTwinning programs and, within her Department, of the Internationalization Commission and the Editorial Commission. She is also a  member of the Laboratory of Qualitative Methodology for Adult Learning (Laboratorio di Metodologie Qualitative nella Formazione degli Adulti – MetQualFa), and Scientific Referee for the Lifelong learning and Communication Research Center ( Centro di Ricerca "Formazione Continua & Comunicazione" - CEFORC).

Member of many national and international associations, among which AIA – Associazione Italiana di Anglistica; ANDA - AssociazioneNazionale Docenti di Anglistica; Centro Studi Umanistici Comparati Onlus; ECLRNI - The Eighteenth-Century Literature Research Network in Ireland (Trinity College, Dublin); ISSCL - Irish Society for the Study of Children's Literature; JAMES JOYCE ITALIAN FOUNDATION; TESOL-Italy - Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Among her latest publications, Tra il Dire e il Fare. L’innovazione educativo-pedagogica dell’opera di Maria Edgeworth (Firenze University Press, 2015). She also translated some of M. Edgeworth’s works: “The Purple Jar” and “The Little Merchants”, collected in Due Racconti (Kappa edizioni, Roma, 2009), and Harrington (Belforte editore, Livorno, 2012-2015).

Good afternoon all,
 
This Sunday at 8 pm I will be running a webinar to look at how you can be proactive about engaging with the Social Justice part of the SPR Professional Values and Commitment Criterion.  This criterion can sometimes be a little difficult to evidence where you have been actively involved rather than finding information that the children have been involved in.
 
The webinar will look at Social Justice through the Hands of the World project to show how you can incorporate some simple parts of the project into your practice to demonstrate a proactive approach to this criterion that involves the pupils in your next placement class and future classes.
 
The format of the webinar will be:
 
  1. Brief Introduction to Social Justice through intercultural learning.
  2. A simply way to incorporate the intercultural learning into the class day/ week.
  3. The possibility of your class communicating with another class in Europe during placement.
  4. The postcard activity (those involved in this activity need to watch this).  For others, this is still worth watching as you might wish to be involved in another placement or when you have your own class.
As with every webinar, you can attend the live webinar or watch a recording.  The live webinar is a better option as you feel part of the webinar, however, I do realise that this might not be possible.
 
If you attend or watch the webinar and leave a comment on the pallet page, that twill be created after the webinar, you will receive a CPD certificate which you can place in your placement folders to demonstrate that you have attended a course to prepare you for this aspect of your placement.  This fits well with the Professional Commitment part of your placement with regards to CPD.
